IMAX:Under The sea 3D
When IMAX requested a site for their upcoming film, Under the Sea 3D, the main goal was to find a way to incorporate the vibrant, moving nature of oceanic life into every aspect of the web presence. In addition, they wanted an interface which would allow the web community to share photos of their tropical travels on the site, further enriching the user experience by appealing to the popularity of social networking and user generated content.
How It’s Made
To bring the look and feel of the movie to its website, I chose a site metaphor in which the user takes on the POV of a deep sea diver, each page presenting itself as if it was discovered while exploring the depths of the ocean. As the user navigates the site, they can peruse rich informational content, videos and games, all the while experiencing the colorful diversity of sea life all around them as represented in the film.
